You may have realized I have a love for all things “chalkboard.”
Once upon a time, I painted our refrigerator in chalkboard paint.
Remember that Craigslist dresser? Well, the great thing about its $40 price tag was that it also included a mirror!
It seems like for forever that I have wanted to make a big “fancy” chalkboard for our living room without being “fancy” and this was the perfect mirror!
All it took was a little chalkboard spray paint (two coats)…
Some tape around the edges (I may have done this backwards) to paint the edges white….
And be sure to prime it with actual chalk before you try to write on it. I promise, it won’t write as well without the priming!
Andddd, here she is today with one of my favorite hymns, “As the deer….”
(Not sure why this picture seems to glow on wordpress…)
It’s perfect for birthday parties or Christmas and a fast and simple project with a lot of impact!
What have you painted with chalkboard paint lately?

Thank you!!
AWESOME SAUCE!!! I love that you sprayed right over the mirror! Fantastic and a HUGE time saver from my previous attempts to prying out the picture or glass to replace with a board painted chalkboard and then trying to reattach!! Genius! I am going to try this right away!! Thanks for sharing!
I love chalkboard too! Your mirror turned chalkboard looks great!
