Happy Tuesday, friends!
Today, I wanted to share this home tour with the insanely talented girls in the Holiday Housewalk! You HAVE to check them out! Each home looks like the cover of a magazine!
More than anything this year, I want our hearts to be prepared. Just like inside (our full home tour), we kept it simple on our porch. We had to move our DIY Bench to the porch (because my boys kept knocking it over inside), but I love the look of it here!Greenery and white ribbon. Very simple. Exactly what we wanted for this season.
At church on Sunday night, at my second favorite service of the year, our Hanging of the Green, the children spoke about preparing our hearts and our homes. My home is prepared but have we truly prepared our hearts for the coming of our Savior?
My door is open and I’m thrilled to share my thrifted finds, my repurposed pieces and our almost entirely thrifted dining room.
But will I fill up this table with people I love and maybe even people I don’t know?
Will we share the true reason we are gathered together? Or will we rush to finish lunch because we all have somewhere else to be?
Will we remember how time stood still that One Holy Night?
Will we truly let our trust take us without borders?
Or is this countdown about us?
About what else WE have to get finished?
The first Noel, the birth of a King.
This year, I want it to be different. My house looked like this for about 24 hours before it was filled with clutter, dishes in the sink, and clothes in the floor.
But, I’m okay with that. Because that night in the stable, didn’t look like thrifted dishes and a decorated tree.
It held a different kind of light. A light that continued both day and night.
Because like our sweet children said Sunday night, “the light of the advent wreath is a light that no darkness can extinguish.”
I am so thankful. I am so grateful for you. I hope you feel inspired to do what works for you.
To truly celebrate this special season with your family, whatever that may look like in your home and beyond.
