Good morning!
One of THE most asked questions since we shared our kitchen was about our open shelves. Were they hard to clean? Do they get dusty? Why didn’t we install cabinets (that one can be answered for layout purposes…see that window right next to the shelves? Not nearly enough space for cabinets!)?
Some of you LOVED them, others…ehh, not so much. And that’s okay! Because we absolutely love them! We use so much of what is on these shelves!
Okay, maybe I don’t use that white pitcher every day…but I do use the plates and mugs almost every day!
Thankfully, a couple of weeks ago, Good Housekeeping asked me, along with several other bloggers, some of the same questions you did and gathered all of this information in one post! I wanted to share it with you in hopes that it puts some of you at ease that are thinking about installing them for yourselves!
Find it here!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
Want to see more of the kitchen? Check it out here!

YEAH YOU!!!!! I’m so excited about your feature in GH! That is super awesome! And this space! Gawd! It’s a-mazing! Lots of exclamations used in this comment. =) It was necessary.
You are the sweetest, Kyla! Thank you so much!!!!! LOVE the exclamations! 🙂
First off I lurve your kitchen!! I am currently making my kitchen over and after 1000’s of kitchens on Pinterest, I have found my kindred spirit lol. I had my hubs rip out all the upper cabinets and beadboard all the walls, then I started painting…..I was worried about it being too stark but then I saw your kitchen and love for seaglass hueslike I do and now I feel better. Thanks for the inspo!!
