Good morning, friends!
Today, I am sharing Part I of our Christmas home tour hosted my friend, Carrie, at Lovely Etc.
If you’re coming from Newly Woodwards, welcome!
My name is Amber and you can read more about our little journey to this house here.
Each year, I get more and more excited to decorate for Christmas. I know a lot of it has to do with the kiddos getting older, understanding what the true meaning behind this season is and wanting to help but it is truly so much fun to do.
Since we moved into the yellow house, I wanted to do a pretty garland on the staircase. I have a few more touches to add but I can honestly say that I love walking by it. Ridiculous, I know, but true.
The joy of watching our children walk around, too, with that twinkle in their eye and enjoying this season of life, hints at the joy I felt when they were born. When their eyes light up, it makes my heart seem to just smile.
It reminds me of the joy Mary must have felt after our Savior was born. He came so that we could have JOY because the angels themselves said, “I bring you good news that will bring great JOY to all people.” Luke 2:10
And although, it is not my home that brings me joy, I am grateful and so thankful for the opportunity to serve others here. I am so grateful for you.
Soon, the table will be filled, the couches will be hosting pillow fights and the presents unwrapped. And that is what I will look forward to the most.
Please remember before you leave, this is my home cleaned up. Ten minutes after naptime, toys were strewn back across the floor and presents had been moved and our little train had derailed.
We are not about perfection here but we tend to enjoy the journey.
And so I leave you with my pitiful attempt at a magnolia wreath. I should have bought the foam like Southern Living said but I saw the wire and thought it was a tad bigger. Well, it was GIANT. I need a bigger bow and I probably should just throw it away but I could not. I worked too hard on it. You see, during this busy season of life and my busiest season for photo sessions (for which I am so grateful), it was almost therapeutic for me to decorate. I loved every minute. So today, do something you love. Find something special that makes you happy. Just because.
And when you do, remember my wreath.
PS One of those things could be entering this giveaway. What better way to do one thing you love than to win something?
