Honor.
I know you’re so tired of hearing me say it but this is an honor. It’s no secret decorating a home isn’t a “job” for me. I don’t make money here…well, I do make a few cents a day. I do this because it brings me peace. And when it starts to make my mind race, I take a step back. But today, this is an HONOR. Following Lucy, from the Craftberry Bush, someone I adore, is such a honor and a blessing. She is authentic. She is beautiful. She is kind.
If you’re new here, my name is Amber and I live in a small town in South Carolina with my three young kiddos and husband (that I met the first day of kindergarten!). He’s a basketball coach and I used to coach, too! You can read how I quit my secure teaching job to work from home as a photographer AND how this Yellow House that we love came to be ours.
THIS is such an honor.
Posture.
Coming here knowing the posture of my heart is that of worship and recognizing the honor and blessing this is, is important to me.
I’m writing about our home.
A home we get to decorate, a home we are so thankful to live in, a home that brings us so much joy. A home that we NEVER imagined would be in at this time five years ago.
Rest.
I have been the worst at commenting on other blogs throughout the Seasonal Simplicity tour and y’all, they’ve all been so kind. It’s just the season, right? But rest is important, too.
We rest here on these couches. We play games, we wrestle (too much), and more often than not, a football flies by my head, even inside…no matter what I say, that’s a losing battle.
But creating a home where rest is important as the weather cools, the season speeds up instead of slowing down, is where I recognize that the posture of my heart MUST be that of thankfulness and gratitude.
So, like I always say, and mean it so so much, thank you for being here. Thank you for your support. Thank you for being you.
Be sure to head to Summer Adams’ home. Her gorgeous home will, too, leave you breathless.
Here are a few images from past year’s fall tours, if you’re interested.

It’s a honour to take a peek inside your home and have you share a part of your life with us. Beautiful, as always!
Wow! Your Home is stunning. Wow! Your photos and incredible. Wow! Your words are like a long drink of water. May God continue to bless you and grant your heart’s desire to rest and be thankful throughout this busy season.
Beautiful, Amber! Always so light filled – your home and your words! Glad you could be part of this tour series:)
This is beautiful, Amber. The words and the images. Your home is so beautiful and I’m so glad to have ‘met’ you through this hop! xoxo
Love your heart and your home. Just beautiful all around!1
Such a beautiful home tour, Amber. I feel like I’m not good at keeping up commenting on all the posts. Such a busy and hard time of year. LOVE what you wrote and the reminder of what truly is important.
