I truly am soooo excited to show you our porch today. If you were here last week, you know that I was a little hesitant to share my living room with you. BUT you were so kind and showed me so much grace.

THANK YOU FOR THAT.

I love visiting with you and this online journal that lets me document our lives.

I had a session this past week that brought me full circle and every time I think about it tears come to my eyes. I knew I had blogged about it here, too, so I dug up that post and the comments there were from three people that jumped off the page. Aniko shared how much it resonated with her. One sweet friend, Sharlie, commented how she had no decorating skills…and y’all! Today, she has a huge IG @thefrontporchfarmhouse, following her decor style! How amazing does God work through these seemingly meaningless details…they even matter to Him.

I shared this verse with my oldest last week, then went to my session and it was on her door:

“Whatever you do, do it as if you’re working for the Lord and not men…”

I struggled with that last week, worrying whether or not I didn’t give it my all. But other than taking pictures at night when there was no natural light, it just didn’t work last week.

And that brings me back to perspective.

Ahhh…so much to be thankful for, friends.

And this porch that we put together with your help and inspiration from Laura at Inspiration at Moms, I just love it!

Pumpkins from Michael’s.

Two painted pumpkins.

Fake eucalyptus.

Real magnolia leaves.

I’m just obsessed!

It makes me so happy to walk up now because it feels finished and so cozy.

Knowing this porch used to be where we painted projects (and still hide them on the side porch) reminds me the progress that can happen with a little bit of paint.

Circa 2013/2014

You can do it, too, friends. Just remember, it doesn’t happen overnight. We have been here five years and I just now feel like it’s coming together.

Style takes time.

Find what works for you.

Not the latest trend.

Not the latest Target dollar spot find (although I love it, too!).

Find what makes your heart SOAR.

And follow that dream.

No matter how crazy it may seem.
