You know how sometimes things just fit before you even realize it? That’s exactly how this vignette happened. Sometime ago, I moved the lamp that was here last spring and I knew I needed something to fill it in.
The gallery wall I had tried on top of these windows didn’t quite fit so I took it all down, too. It’s like why I painted my whole house white five years ago even though my contractor literally thought I was crazy, I just needed to quiet the space for a minute. I needed it to be simple before I filled it in. I think it’s The Nester talks about quieting a space and it completely makes sense.
Well, we took pictures this summer at the beach like we always do and I was thrilled with our pictures. While I was down there, I did a session at a friend’s beach house and she had this framed beach picture inside a window and I LOVED it. Thankfully, my next door neighbors are quite amazing and they own a framing gallery so they matted this print and framed it for me using my other neighbor’s old window!
(last fall’s tour)
(and now)
I set it in front of these windows just moving it from hanging on the wall and it had my wheels spinning.
THEN, I just happened to set the oar there, too while I was cleaning one day and as I walked away, I thought, well. I think I really like that!
And I did!
It fits the simple, quiet look I was going for without even realizing it.
A coastal touch.
A little hint of green (real eucalyptus mixed with fake).
And my favorite people. Complete with a little princess/cowgirl that curls into any spot she can find.
Be sure to head to the other blogs today to see their vignettes/mantles! I love to see what these talented girls come up with each season!

Wow this is so bright and light for Spring! I love it!
Oh goodness. As much as I love Utah’s mountains, when I see a pretty coastal vignette like you shared I want to pack all my things and leave this landlocked state. What a peaceful, calm vibe you’ve created in your home…Gorgeous!
It’s fun participating in this hop with you. Pinned to share the pretty with others.
Looks lovely Amber! My vignettes end up being made up of things I randomly set on them too, and I end up loving them so much!
So pretty and I love your little one just chillin on the last photo..xo
So fresh and lovely, Amber. I love how your family pictures are at the center of it all!
