Hello friends! Welcome! If you’re coming over from A Pretty Life, my friend Jo-Anna’s blog, I am so glad you’re here! We have been experiencing technical difficulties all day so I AM SO THANKFUL my post is finally live!

For the first time in a long time, I have been so so excited for fall. Normally, I am ALLL for summer lasting as long as possible but down here in South Carolina IT.IS.HOT. I mean really really hot so cozying our home up for fall felt a little weird given the temperatures but inside, it felt so great to clear away things that had gathered and caused the living room to feel cluttered. And can you believe I did not add a single pumpkin!?

Here is how we made it feel a little more like fall inside…

Texture

Every night, I snuggle up on the couch with a blanket. Every single night. So, I pulled out two of my very favorites, and I’m loving this chunky knit one I found at TJ Maxx this summer, and layered with a ticking stripe pillow.

We had been living with our very favorite coffee table that had been my old desk with its broken leg. Instead, we moved the wicker chest from the fireplace to the center of the room. It not only felt like the room could breathe a little more but added a texture and coastal feel that we love.

Plants

I cut a few branches from our magnolia tree and brought in a snake plant from a sweet neighbor that is now in heaven. I am not sure how successful I am with indoor plants but I sure do like this tiny plant that I split in three. We had hoped to add a chair here, too, but my husband liked how open it felt so we just left it since this is where our Christmas tree will go soon!

Candles

I absolutely LOVE having candles around and as soon as I grab my blanket, I light the candles, as well. This warmth it provides is just one of those little things that makes my heart happy, too.

Nothing much else has changed but it has just somewhat cleared out. A few weekends ago, we cleared out my old office and goodness, it just feels so good to clear out. This is what I expect for our season of fall and as we prepare our hearts for the Christmas season.

I named this tour intentional because we have become extremely intentional in our decisions, even the decor ones. You may remember the series we did last fall and even though it was about intentionality, last fall I still felt scattered. We had just started dance and Kuy was doing football, and I was in the midst of a busy photography season. This year, the boys are only playing a sport one night a week, dance is one night a week (AT OUR NEW STUDIO!!!) and photography scheduling has ALSO been more intentional.

It just feels like we can breathe a little, you know that feeling?

I just keep feeling His whispers to abide. To rest. To seek Him.

And as always, I’m just so grateful for you and that you choose to follow along on this journey with us.

May your homes be filled with intentional moments and slow days, too.

Be sure to check out all the gorgeous homes today and head to Kim’s blog next!
